Installed CPM near legacy panel |
System Installation |
Installation of the CPM device is simple and fast. Using the pass-thru mode, existing cards continue to work so there is zero down-time. Once the CPM is installed, users can be moved from the old system to the new system at a comfortable pace. The system can use a mixture of old and new cards for as long as the transition requires, and some or all of the old cards can be disabled instantly should an incident occur. In many cases, the CPM can be mounted inside the legacy system control panel enclosure, or in a suitable enclosure nearby (as shown). The CPM can be located anywhere in the path between the card reader(s) and the legacy control panel. Additional connections may optionally be made to the legacy panel that will allow the Common Pass system to monitor legacy system and door status or even to provide remote door controls. Because only the Wiegand card reader connections are affected, legacy system warranties and service contracts remain in effect.
